A SOUTH ASIAN DANCE & MUSIC WORKSHOP

On 14th February, Suptika and Amna offer a workshop at Murx in south Asian dance and music, exploring the theme of love, known as Shringar. The workshop will last two hours long, and will begin with guided breathwork and chakric awareness. After this, Suptika and Amna will take us on a journey into basic melodic vocal exercises of south asian music, abhinaya (expression), mudra (hand gestures) and a short choreography rooted in the dance form of Bharathanatyam.

Suptika is a vocalist trained in Indian classical singing, with over a decade of experience with her guru Shree Asit Dey, an exponent of the Indore school of music. Amna is a dancer and choreographer who experiments with different dance styles from the subcontinent for over two decades.
